Deliverance and Inner Healing

Have you ever wondered why it is never quiet in your head? Are you seeking to get closer to Jesus but seem to be getting further from Him? Does it feel like you take 1 step forward and 2 steps back? Does it feel like something is blocking you from moving forward in your walk? Are you trying to live a godly lifestyle but cannot seem to quit sinning? You may need deliverance from unholy and controlling spirits. You may need healing from trauma and soul wounds as well.

Deliverance

~Scripture tells us to work out our own salvation with fear & trembling (Philippians 2:12). Meaning: Work out, accomplish, perform, achieve your own deliverance from the molestation of enemies with reverence of the Lord & the anxiety of one who distrusts his ability completely to meet all requirements, but religiously does his utmost to fulfill his duty.  Jesus said the thief comes only to steal, kill, & destroy, but that He came so that we could have life & have it abundant (John 10:10). The thief is satan, the adversary, the liar, the destroyer, & he wants to steal our joy, our destiny, our life, our very soul. The enemy does not play fair, our idea of fairness comes from Almighty God - and satan is against all that is God. When we fail to live a life that is described in Scripture & exemplified by Christ, we open doors for satan giving him legal ground in our lives.

~There are 3 ways that satan can gain legal access to humans - ANCESTRY, that is our generational covenants & sin done by our ancestors; ACCIDENT things that happen to us such as molestation & abuse, or things we have witnessed;

ACCESS, participation in sinful things, willful acts of disobedience/rebellion, choices we make., sexual immorality.

~Unforgiveness plays a huge role in giving the enemy legal ground in our lives because unforgiveness is a choice, an act of our will. In Matthew 6:14, 15 Jesus says that if we want forgiveness (which we do because forgiveness is what reconciles us to God), then we must forgive others. If we do not forgive, neither will Father forgive (without His forgiveness, we do not have salvation).  Unforgiveness & Bitterness go hand in hand. You can see bitterness at work everywhere you look.

~Many people do not believe that a believer in Jesus Christ can have a demon. Please see the blog post regarding this very topic titled "These signs shall accompany those who believe." There is more in Scripture to support this idea than the idea that a believer cannot be oppressed by satan.  Demons can be present in the body & the soul, but not the spirit.

~ We tend to come into agreement with spirits such as infirmity, illness, death, suicide, depression, anger, doubt, anxiety, witchcraft, anti-christ, & on & on & on. Sometimes its not our fault; often times it is.  Jesus is a gentleman & will not just take these things from us, we have to come out of agreement with them & hand them over to Him. We have to cast out the demons then choose to think & live different. We want to believe that life is just happening to us, or that it is someone else's fault. It is harder to realize that we can choose different by taking responsibility for our own lives rather than blaming others & continuing to choose victim-mentality & poor -me attitude.

Inner Healing

~When traumatic things happen to us & we do not deal with them, suppose we push them down, a piece of us gets "stuck" in that time & trauma. That piece "protects" you from ever feeling that way or being hurt like that again. The Lord will heal us when we stop believing the lies, replacing them the with truth of His Word. His Word is the prescription for everything. When we filter our present through things that happened in the past, we do not necessarily see things through truth but through a traumatic lens. When parts of us can never grow & mature, our past tends to lead our thoughts, often making us believe we are a victim. Though we can be victims of things that have happened to us, they may not be happening currently, or in a really long time. We tend to talk about our past constantly & expect pity because something bad happened. Look, something bad has happened to everyone, some worse than others. But Jesus can heal us so that we can have life, and have it abundant! I used to play victim & want pity & was angry when i did not get the pity & attention i desired. I thought i needed to be pitiful in order for God Almighty to work on my behalf, to come to my rescue. But He already gave me power & authority, I just had to learn to use it, walk in it.

~ SO, how do you heal from trauma? A simple way is to go to the painful memory (each painful memory individually), think about the age you were, the emotions you feel, the color of the drapes, the name of the person who hurt you, as many details as possible. Then ask Jesus to show up in the memory & imagine handing all those things to Him. Forgive the person for what they did to you, say out loud, "As an act of my will I choose to forgive this person for what they did. I release them of all guilt, bitterness, & resentment. I cancel their debt owed to me. Jesus, I ask You to forgive them too." Then "watch" as the person of the age you were hurt walks away with Jesus. You may ask how imagining all of this is helpful. Well, you continue to imagine that this trauma is still happening, imagining you are still a victim, & it holds a lot of power in your life. Try imagining something positive. "When the imagination & the will are at odds, the imagination wins out." (Wendy Backlund, Victorious Emotions. A great read to learn more about how our emotions cause us to function). The Word says in 2 Corinthians 10:5 to cast down vain imaginations - stop thinking thoughts that go against godly living. Satan wants us so obsessed with our past that we cannot walk into our anointing in Christ. Our emotions & traumas are often what holds us back from our destiny in the Lord Jesus.

~ A good deliverance minister can help with getting set free from strongholds, whether demonic or trauma related. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in seeking a true God-fearing deliverance minister. Some great resources & people I have learned from are Dr. Scott Bitcon, Pastor Henry Shaffer, Rikhard Hartikainen, & Dan Duval. Deliverance is the childrens bread (Matthew 15:26) & He wants us to be free. Whom the Son sets free is free indeed (John 8:36)! Are you ready to be set free?You will know the truth & the  truth will set you free (John 8:32). Truth is a powerful thing; are you ready for the truth?
