Let Freedom Ring...

If the truth sets you free, then deception & lies keep you in bondage. And too many of us are in bondage. Freedom according to Google means the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint. Freedom in Scripture refers not to the ability to do whatever we want but that we are free from the bondage or death, sin, and demonic strongholds in Christ Jesus! If we belong to Jesus then we are free from the bondage of the Law (Galatian 2:4). Galatians 5:13 (AMP) says that "in Christ we are called to freedom, but do not let your freedom become an opportunity for the sinful nature (worldliness, selfishness), but through love, serve & seek the best for one another."

Our freedom comes from faith & hope in Jesus Christ, not from any kind of government, though they would like to think we are subject to them or that they are our savior. We currently have a government that is leading people away from relying on them. For too long many have let the "government" provide for them, buy their food, pay their rent, provide creature comforts. The government has accommodated people for too long, trying to buy votes so that they can stay in office & keep their friends in business. Where do people think their "free" money comes from? It comes from the backs of the working American paying ridiculous amounts in taxes. For far too long tax payers have been a "baby-daddy" to those amoral individuals who live only for self, taking all they can, never giving back. These fruits reveal who their god is, and its not the God of the Bible. The Bible says that if you don't work you don't eat. 2 Thessalonians 3:10-12 (AMP), Paul writes, "if anyone is not willing to work, then he will not eat. We hear that some among you are leading an undisciplined & inappropriate life, doing no work at all, but acting like busybodies, meddling in other peoples business. To such people we command & exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down & work quietly & earn their own food & other necessities, supporting themselves instead of depending on the hospitality of others." Freedom does not mean taking as much as you can. Honestly, most of us don't mind giving at all. Some research suggests that Americans are some of the most generous people on the planet, giving over 1 Trillion dollars per year to churches across the U.S. If we weren't having to pay so much in tax dollars to support people who take, we could be even more generous, maybe even doing real good. Unfortunately, much of the money given is not going for charity but rather to pad the pockets, buy more houses, more cars, more worldly crap of takers who have just gotten good at making taking their living; greed is their portion. We are broke, though we still give. Because we know it is the right thing to do; we know what it is like to have nothing so we are attempting to help others. Our motives are often right, but the execution once the money has left our hand is deceptive. We tend to get angry at the symptoms rather than the cause. People being taken off of welfare because they use it as a means of earning a living is simply a symptom of a bigger problem, one that didn't happen overnight. Entitlement in people, believing they are owed something because they, what, simply exist? What happened if no one worked because we all had that entitlement that we are owed something for simply existing? Economies would completely tank, nothing would get done, the world would cease to exist in any way that we would recognize. My husband & my sons work 70-80 hours per WEEK! There are those who refuse to work at all so much of what my family earns is going to the lazy. Yet they continue in the hope of FREEDOM from financial debt, freedom from owing the government in over taxation, freedom from being the "baby daddy" of lazy & entitled individuals. Proverbs 10:4 says a slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich. Proverbs 18:9 says that whoever is slack in his work is a brother to him who destroys. Who do you think "him who destroys" is? Its satan; you are a friend of satan. If a person is slack, lazy, they deserve to be in poverty.

While we are free to do/say/think/believe whatever we want, we are not free from the consequences of our actions. Our own thoughts & ideals keep us on bondage. What kind of seed are we sowing? Our words have power; are we speaking from a place of freedom or from a place of bondage? What is our mentality, what does it consist of, where do our thoughts lead? People choose bondage over freedom because how they choose to think, choosing to believe they are victims, or life is just happening to them, when the TRUTH is that it is of their own doing. Children cannot make choices to lead a better life, but adults can choose different, can choose to be free from their past, their traumas, their strongholds. (Read my deliverance and inner healing section.) We have a Savior in Jesus Christ that offers freedom & abundant life. We no longer have to be in bondage to sin, shame, death, hell, our past, the Law nor satan. We are a product of the sum of our choices. I do not pity people for choosing the course their life is taking. I had a choice to choose life or death, & I chose life. Too many choose death. If we put our hope in anything other than Jesus we make a covenant with death. Life is not simply happening to us, we have choices, authority, power, words, actions that can change the course of our lives. I was once in covenant with death, I once lived a life seeking pity, I have chosen poorly. But God! He saved me from those things because I chose Him; I put my faith & hope in Jesus Christ. That is where freedom rings!
